I don't think they would be dragged into it. Just don't use any of the patents in the portfolio that has this clause. You had no right to use them before the clause.

Sort of sounds like GPL, but for patents. Maybe this is the way to fix the patent system? Build huge portfolios that grant people use of them so long as they are not suing anybody for any payments they hold.

I don't buy that for a second. I think Linus is smart, and knows there is a mob out there ready to enforce and pounce for language they don't like. Its odd, that people keep saying this. He is the leader of one of the largest most

Expect you are wrong. Its like having a party of 20,000 guest over and a hand full of them are complaining. I have read enough comments to know that nowhere the majority of people seem to care what Linus says.

I don't think so. I know many gates cominities that have a guard that verifies identity for those comming and going from the subdivision. And logs are kept. If you can hire a human to do it and it is fine then I don't think any a

How so? I read your link and can't help to see it is about tenants rights, not visitors of tenants. It seems this would only stop non-tenets from having access to the facilities. At least without being accompanied by actual tenants.

That is actually funny. But I think it is important that leaving also gives them the right to be just as indecisive as they want. Maybe being slow and arguing and thinking more about huge changes is exactly what they want.

The x220 gets about 80% my T450s, it also seems to compile emacs a few seconds faster... Later today I will try and post some screen shots of power consumption. The x220 for sure can last an entire day on battery.
