That's fair. The LLM hype has been next level, but it's only rivaled by the 'it never works for anything and will make you stupid' crowd. Both are wrong in my experience.

A pet peeve of mine are slides with walls of text. I put a few bullets or graphic on a slide mainly as a signpost for myself. By the time I give a presentation I've practiced enough that I can see any slide and go from there.

I write all the time and couldn't quote anything off hand. What I can talk about are the ideas in the writing. I find LLMs useful as an editor. Here's what I want to say, is it clear or are there better words, etc... And then I ne

There’s a particular Italian government website and the only way I can find it is through ChatGPT. It’s a sub site under another site and I assume it’s the context of my question that surfaces the site when Google wouldn’t.

It's always about the money. And when someone says it's not about the money, it's absolutely about the money. Once people understand that, the world becomes much easier to navigate.

I’m wondering if you’ve ever felt debilitating acute pain. I had nerve pain in the past to where my leg felt like it was on fire. It was then I understood how people get addicted to pain killers. I was able to address the problem and I’ve b

Instead of replace, think reduce. A graphical designer/lead might have farmed out some work to a contractor, with AI they now just do it themselves. It doesn't look like 'cheap AI' because they used the tools to augment

There's a lot of nuance in these types of stories. First, the US is far from uniform in salaries. Salaries in large metro areas are different from smaller areas and are different from CA/SV. Europe also isn't uniform, and in

Everyone has some level of privilege. I didn't get my first PC until I was a freshman in college. I had to spend part of my college loan buying one (~$3k IIRC). Up to that point I had only played with the Apple IIc's and the few M
