We moved to Discord and most apps only support Slack (looking at you, Datadog and Github!). Zapier has saved us in a couple cases from having to go back to Slack.

I notice not all results have a date. That is extremely important when looking at Reddit posts, and one of the main issues with Google because old posts will show up as new.

I'd love to hear a comparison between this and Next.js if someone has used both.

I did great in Physics because I was a year ahead in math and had already taken Pre-Cal (Trigonometry). I thought it was incredibly dumb they were asking kids to calculate velocity and acceleration before they knew what an integral or diffe

What no ICQ? I got off the train before FB Messenger, personally. I don't think it was 'required' to have an app anymore once texting became free. And now everyone's on iMessage, except for Android users like me.

One caveat: every time I use !important, there's at least a clear reason why ("X" library is doing stupid stuff) and you could be surfacing this like any other tech debt. Often, 'spaghetti css' is an easy excuse to

I squash all commits in a PR as a clean commit. I don't see any benefit to knowing when or what someone did other the past few weeks to get to the point we're updating the main branch, and i don't want them to waste time eith

I feel like not everyone works well remotely. Meanwhile if you can work well remote, you can probably work well at a desk. So the rest of us must suffer especially at these larger firms.

I feel like most people that hate SPAs never have to deal with this type of thing, or even only have to work on the backend. They just don't get it. Of course, if you're using a SPA for a static website, you're also doing it

we just need more states/cities to get on the bandwagon. New York City is enacting their own version of it this year, for example.

Pretty much... all you need to provide to `await` is an object with a 'thenable' function. Even this works: (async () => { const promise = { then (resolve) { resolve('World'); } };

Nor should we want to! I have spent a week trying just to make my forms screen-reader-friendly and it is very hard, especially if you're using a library already to build the components. But the reason I know it won't work is that

I'm on a pretty small team, we don't have enough people or time to do a robust interview process, but we started contracting devs for a week before hiring them, and it has been a much better experience than any interview I could h

Well, any time you define a variable without var/let/const, I just imagine it's being defined as a property of the global state. I remember back in the day having to remind people to even use `var`.

just loading external files requires some kind of web server, or access to the disk. That's why people like binary files for programs - they don't want to have to compile your code first just to run your app.

My two cents: I just always squash commits when merging to master/main. That way the main branch has clean commit messages and it's easy to revert later. I think cherry-picking commits after the fact can also be very time-consumin
