I think this is a bs pseudo-science article. Instead of saying it’s an age decline maybe just say that it’s very rare to do the same thing progressively better for more than 20 years. Therefore instead of viewing life in progressive terms

On the website your slogan employs poor word choice: Discover and listen to amazing podcasts that's worth your time Should be “that are worth your time.” Just like you have it in your show hn headline. Sorry to nitpick!

My problem with UBI is that it somehow doesn’t seem to be such a good idea to pay people to sit around and do nothing - except perhaps get too deep into social media. At the same time, I do see some benefit to the Danish-style garden leave

100gbps is a bit more than a PR approved statement! It wasn’t much too long ago that AWS guaranteed any kind of bandwidth beyond a gig.

I think you’re close in your perspective but I don’t think I would describe it as generational nor using the game analogy. Here’s my suggestion - coming from someone who spent a few years in the grassroots of a party’s infrastructure. Fir

A lot of people are guarded in corporate settings. They speak in corporate talk and don’t really appear human. If you’re “vulnerable” then this shield of corporate invincibility is put down and people can be people. That’s in my view wha

I’ve seen this so many times as well where candidates under sell themselves or key accomplishments never get brought up. Even Elon Musk in the most recent Autonomy day had to say to Karparthy “introduce yourself and don’t be bashful.” Eve

I’ve heard this type of speech before. It’s a very candid almost scary talk designed to shake you up and get you focused. The gist was don’t think this degree is all you need. If you get lax some jerk with a history degree is going to ta

I’ve read the paper that started this idea of Starlink being a low latency alternative for hft ( http://nrg.cs.ucl.ac.uk/mjh/starlink-draft.pdf ) There are a couple of problems with the paper. The first is that they es

I’m often reminded of that scene in the right stuff where Glenn and Co demand a window... and a hatch. The “conspiracy” against pilots isn’t a new one! :)

My view of jams is they are caused by three expectations drivers have: 1) that the speed limit is still the “minimum speed” recommendation in heavy traffic. Ie, if it’s 65, one can still attempt to drive 74. 2) that the left lane is goin

Yes there is a screen for mpg/remaining but oil life is always displayed by default. If it were me I would have maybe implemented a timer on oil life so maybe you see it at startup but then it rolls to fuel stat later. But ask me why
