I had my five with me (all under ten). We debated endlessly about whether to buy nasa tickets until they were sold out. We flew down the morning of (this was the demo flight last year) - and by 10 am we were in the vicinity of the launch

It’s not hard to get tickets but there are a ton of viewing options that are free - and no one is truly close - at best you’re still miles away. I wouldn’t sweat the location - just go!

I was on cocoa beach for the FH demo flight. As hard as I tried to experience it with my eyes I couldn’t help but try to take some video. But it’s true what they say - one or the other. Make your decision to watch or film but don’t do bo

I took my kids to see the demo launch and they said the rentry burns looked like evil eyes but to me they looked like half an x-wing. ;) everyone must see a live launch.

This seems interesting and nicely done. What are your thoughts behind it being free long term? And how do you see it integrating with other agile tools (or not)?

And not to diminish this one issue - but if this can happen to Boeing, imagine the risks that many other companies with less of a track record in engineering may be inadvertently taking with introductions/reliance on ML. We've fo

Unfortunately, there's nothing different he can say at this point. If he wrote it they way you and I would like it to be, he'd probably be facing shareholder lawsuits and SEC fines and none of that would lead to a productive outc

N gets to be a big number my friend. I love aws but I can’t get over the number of startups I’ve seen with $100k MRR and $35k MRC allocated to AWS.

Even strong cartels like opec have to deal with “cheaters” - members who break the rules just a little bit to line their own pockets opportunistically. I’m not saying trust the content oligarchy but I do think there remain sufficient sourc

I am not sure exactly the distance to the new Leo constellations. Maybe 2k km? If that’s the case even with the speed of light advantage it’s still roughly 30ms round trip just to go up and down not including any electronic delays in the e

40tbs is 100x400G.... Vs 10G. I agree that Leo will open up opportunities but it won’t supplant fiber economics.

I think it's a bit far fetched to describe the current situation as a cartel. First, what is the function of a cartel? It's to coordinate supply to keep prices high. Do we really think that anything the content players have don

just remember the underlying unit economics of LEO vs fiber. A repeated system is generally thought to be capable of 40+Tbps / pair where as LEO might be good for gigabit at best.

I have thousands of Evernote notes and have been an Evernote user since 2009. I’ve often thought of switching to Apple notes but I stick with Evernote. If I could change things, I’d make searching better and I’d find a better ways to crea

I would just add that if you’re new to Django read https://simpleisbetterthancomplex.com - there are ton of detailed explanations that go deep in how Django can be extended. It’s definitely not the run of the mill tutorial blo

Apps can be a good way to generalize a set of classes for reuse in other projects. For instance we put auth into an app so if we fire up other projects we don’t have to rewrite auth.

Perhaps but shouldn’t there be a rule that if it takes more keystrokes we shouldn’t do it? It’s like deprecating df.ix for df.iloc... why do I need to type two more letters for essentially the same functionality?

I will never understand why iPad keyboards do not have a proper esc key. I know you can remap but it’s not the same. It’s almost as if apple knew this one key would forever preserve the MacBook as a developer platform.

Highly unlikely that 5g / iOS will play a role in the context of hft. Also your view of the ecosystem (eg zayo and co being the big winners) is massively outdated by five years at minimum.
