I did the same thing. I need OSX, but hate the current laptop lineup. So I got a Mac Mini, eGPU, and a killer screen. Cheaper than an iMac, crazy performance, and very upgradable (apart from the soldiered SSD). Looking hard at a Thinkpad fo

I don't think Spotify (streaming services) are influencing the composition of new music – listening habits are mostly unchanged since popular music in the 50's. The 3-minute song with the initial hook is a product of 50's AM

Anecdotal, but the eSport Overwatch League is the first time I actually enjoyed watching a spectator sport. Every other sport feels like tribalism and favors a brand over strategy and skill. These kids playing these eSports are crazy brilli

If I were to examine two programs that operate identically, but one has 1/10 lines of code, I would assume it is more efficient, more fault tolerant, more general purpose/reusable, and would assume a more competent developer wrote

Be sure to look into cob and strawbale construction. Quite a bit hippy, but also a better process for the first time owner-builder. There's a book called The Hand-Sculpted House. Also Google "cob house" and "strawbale ho

This is fantastic. Disasters, while terrible, should be the time to think outside the box. Similar to Puerto Rico and the solar experiment – hopefully Venezuela and Bitcoin will be the proof of concept that convinces the "adults".
