In a world with only self-driving cars on the road, I definitely agree. I think things will be worse in a mixed human and self-driving environment, though. I say this as someone who lives in a zip code where Waymo has been testing for ye

I have a waterpik whose motor absolutely obliterates 2.4ghz. I sometimes use it while wearing bluetooth headphones, and music immediately stops. It took me awhile to figure it out (I thought it was my head leaning down and putting a metal

I noticed this for the first time today, despite running the betas on my laptop (you need to connect to Sonoma from Sonoma, and I don't upgrade across the board). I suspect it's the underlying tech that streams macOS into the Vi

Apple advertising extends beyond the app store, both for iOS and macOS, and is personalized by default. You can disable this in Settings -> Privacy and Security -> Apple Advertising on both platforms.

I have heard of travel photographers doing this with high-end DSLRs. You can use miniature painting techniques to make cameras look incredibly worn to the point of broken.

Right, but that clarification was pre-edit? I'm aware of people's sensitivity to putting demands on efforts like this, which is why I tried to frame it as the genuine curiosity it is. This sort of low-level work is out of my depth

Why is M2 Ultra support missing? I'm curious more than anything--lack of developer hardware? Something technical? "The Khronos website lists all conformant implementations, including our drivers for the M1, M1 Pro/Max/

I built a pretty serious "homelab" over a few years, in the sense of building out 24/7 services as robustly as possible. There is an element of practicality for very long-term maintenance if you run i.e. VMs off a different

I saw these a bunch in beta 2, and none at all in beta 3. I suspect it was a bug, and not a new feature. Some popups were even for system services (a long no-space process with "blastdoor" in the name for iMessage, etc).
