That's still a 2014 release--definitely modern relative to the releases talked about in the article.

I did a quick Slack bot that messages a channel with open merge requests every morning. I really wanted to show the approval status, too, just as a reminder for someone to go "oh, that's approved, I should go merge". But the

They do, and it's also used for Desk View when you use an iPhone as your laptop's webcam. This undoes the perspective of whatever is in front of your laptop, basically like an overhead projector: https://www.macworld.

On the M2 Air (and new design MBP), speakers bounce the sound off the screen. I think if you were to remove the screen and listen to those speakers in open air it'd sound quite odd. Probably they're pre-distorting the sound so it

Unity's own localization package is actually pretty good, and one of the few Unity packages that actually seems to solve more problems than it creates: https://docs.unity3d.com/Packages/com.unity.localization@1.4..

Interesting! I usually see forums with hidden sections for long-time members, whether that was by registration time, post count, or manual addition. TIGForums has a fun forum section you can actually see with 0 posts (registered) and then

As someone who never understood the appeal of Twitter or Facebook, the new wave of FOSS social apps feels very alien to me. Forums felt like writing emails in the open. Twitter felt like texting in the open. Not sure what the next thing w

Hold up. It's been ~14 years since Apple shipped machines with 2GB of memory as base their base model. macOS (and iOS) have incredibly good screen reader support, as well as all of the things you're complaining about in your orig

This isn't quite true, unless you bring various bill sizes to go along with a credit/debit transaction. And even then, it can be jarring for some of the situations mentioned in a negative context here (versus baked into the payme

Huh! Thanks for posting this. I haven't seen 5" builds with props like this before. The opposite is definitely true for toothpick or smaller builds. Bi-blade is much quieter for something like a ~60g, 3" quad.

I'm pretty sure all Spotify clients also act as "Spotify Connect" targets. Anyone could use it (also I could run an Airplay target on it, but I don't bother)

Some other setups already in the comments, but to chime in with my own: I gave up on 3rd party things. My automation VM includes a GUI environment, and I run the official Linux Spotify client. The only way my setup can break is if Spotify

BetterDisplay can get you supersampling on <4K monitors. I run a 4K monitor as my main display that did this out of the box with macOS, but I have side 1440p monitors that didn't. This fixed it: https://github.com/

For researchers, sure, but it's still quite an apples-to-oranges comparison. A6000 is ~$5k per card. I guess you're referring to something like an A100 on that other spec, which is $10k/card (for 40GB of memory). I do a fair
