Trump (and Elon) are actually fairly pro-China. Or at least, Trump and Xi have a good relationship (and Trump was quoted last month as believing the US and China can solve many problems together), and Elon loves China.

I've also read that Deepseek has released the research paper and that anyone can replicate what they did. I feel like if that were true, it would mean they're not lying.

I don't know enough about how FEMA works, but I'm assuming it operates at a federal level? Could eliminating it force states to strengthen their own disaster relief programs? If that's the case, some potential benefits of thi

Depends on your definition of capitalism. The original Adam Smith capitalism basically called for a nation of small businesses - ultra decentralized. Modern American industries are very far from that. Some might argue they're more like

Agree regarding water and power, and really anything environmental. As far as the market goes, I think part of the problem is that most industries are not true free markets, AKA: high competition, low barriers to entry. Industries that are

True. Centralization under the right leadership will always be more efficient than a decentralized system. But if it's the wrong leadership, the results are far more catastrophic. Centralization is high risk/high reward.

On the flip side, Paul Kennedy's "The Rise and Fall of the Great Powers" is a fascinating read on the benefits of decentralization. The premise is that in the 1500s, no one thought Europe was going to be the next great power.

I don't buy this narrative, even as a Chinese American. There are a ton of viral videos on YouTube about people travelling the most beautiful parts of China. Free for everyone to consume. Chinese movies/shows just kind of suck, es

As a Chinese American, this is the real reason people don't know about China. To be honest, most of the movies/shows China creates sucks. They're Marvel-esque CGI fests with awful storylines. Meanwhile, Japan and Korea are cr

Imo the best case scenario for AI is that it allows almost anyone to become an executive. AKA a small business boom.

Are there any examples of new jobs that are being created because of AI? Or perhaps a boom in small businesses as AI makes it more feasible for entrepreneurs to get leaner?

Always put the phone on speakerphone and keep it away from your head. This is no longer a fringe conspiracy theorist thing (though research on it is still early and relatively sparse). For example: https://edition.cnn.com/20

Whether it's the government or corporations, big organizations are the problem. We need a small business revolution in this country. Side note: An economy made up of small businesses was Adam Smith's original vision (the godfather

Yes, but at some point you have to know where to draw the line. That line should be national security. If China is indeed receiving data from TikTok, the future isn't going to be fun, especially with AI tech heating up. Truth is, when
