I bet 90% of humans would make a similar phrasing error quite often, and they would rightly not care because it doesn't affect the ability of a reader to comprehend the text. I wouldn't be happy if I'd hired a lawyer and they

The thing is, with code you mostly do want the verbose output, with a prescription you do need the output to follow an official format, etc. Tools like these seem to fill a niche where you know what you want, but the target format/pro

For display/view purposes, yes you need to decide what the likely option is. For model/type purposes, the decision to have a 1:1 relationship should be made only with great care, as the OP shows with the example of addresses.

I have to disagree with the first point in the article. The “zero, one, many” rule, or the related “rule of three” isn’t about how many items you have in your list, it’s about code reuse. The conclusion is correct though, that you should

MS has a lot of jobs, and it won’t ever be great at all of them at the same time. It does have some core values these days which are pretty strongly held (from my limited perspective at the fringe) My suggestion is that when it fails at a j

As a current Microsoft employee, I agree the Edge content screens don’t fit well with our values. Given the tiny revenue generated it seems like a bad investment. Raising it as a values issue in the positive “I thought Microsoft would be b

A UN museum of escrow might be neat. Here’s all the awesome stuff people are too pigheaded to come to an agreement on, complete with explanations of why.

But we don't have an energy constraint. We currently produce energy in silly polluting ways, but there's no reason we can't stop doing that and have lots more energy per person as well.

You have not sailed anything that will make 20 knots almost directly into a 10 knot wind. You may well have sailed a multihull that makes 20 knots on a reach or broad reach with a 10 knot wind. And when it did that the apparent wind would

I look forward to racing with you! When not limited by hull speed, speed over ground is highest when the apparent wind is highest. That means being ‘close hauled’ in apparent terms but reaching or broad reaching in true terms. Most sailo

There’s no debate, just a lack of clarity around terms. The fastest point of sail is a broad reach as measured against the true wind angle. Naturally this leads to a close hauled point of sail measured by the apparent wind angle. https:
