Interesting, I see a fair number of French-named cities around Wisconsin but I didn't expect them as far west as Idaho.

The criticism about the folly of merging into one super program to rule them all (F35ABC) was proven at least partially correct. It caused lots of problems, delays, cost overruns. The Navy doesn't seem to like the F35C much anyway. But

I bought one of the DIY Pro kits and put it together. I liked it overall. I think the kit is a good value, it's convenient to get everything all together, and the injection molded case is nice. The included software and cloud dashboard

Commercial in this context is referring to "Commercial Off The Shelf" (COTS). Something that is available on the public market, rather than being produced specially for the government. Budgets, bids, etc. often specify whether som

Hydrogen is a much smaller molecule, so it leaks out of much smaller holes. It leeches into metals and causes hydrogen embrittlement. It is about 1/3 the energy density per volume of natural gas.

I recently set up huge pages on my database server (MariaDB and Postgres) the recommended way, which required way too much rigamarole IMO. Add to the kernel command line to statically allocate a number of huge pages of a certain size. Creat

You can tell the engineers who lived through this time period because they still scrutinize electrolytic caps. E.g. Dave from EEVBlog always goes straight to the caps in whatever he takes apart. It doesn't seem to be much of an issue n

Looks broadly similar to the stm32h7 series that I'm familiar with. Of course all of those are out of stock and cost up to $25. Presumably these are cheaper, though don't have onboard flash memory. The documentation for the STM32s
