Of course, when we're talking cost, you'll most likely have the Scarlet on a support system, so it's an easy matter to add a Ki Pro Mini on the back, attach with HD-SDI, and record ProRes 422 (at 1080p) onto CF cards at a wide variety of bi

Really clever, especially when you consider this isn't at all connected to their main business (except for a little link to running shoes). I wonder if this was someone's 20% time...

Michael Ellsburg (the author) also just posted this article ( http://www.fourhourworkweek.com/blog/2011/09/29/8-steps-to-g... ) which is somewhat related, and an excellent read.

Question: Why does the 'tastemaker' have to be CEO? A traditional CEO's role is to provide vision for the company, sure, but Cook clearly knows he's not Jony Ive, and I'm sure is willing to keep people like Ive around to make those 'tastema

This. Is one of the things I love about HN. When you can write a critique of a product, and hear from someone directly involved in it, that's a fantastic thing. When they're a fellow-HN reader, even better.

If nothing else, I think reputation is a key part of that. I know I'll look at a non-chain's restaurant's website first and if it's terrible, I seriously might not go. Especially if it's not mobile-compatible.

So, the question is, how do we show the restaurant owners that having a better website will increase their revenue?

On the topic of government 'spin' in social media, I highly recommend the book The Net Delusion by Evgeny Morozov. He goes into detail on how different government organizations censor or spin different types of media, and how the viewpoint

It is a big leap for a company... Does anyone know where I could find resources (case studies, testimonials, etc) to promote remote work? 'Hard' data would certainly help convince the boss. Stories like this are great, but they'll need more

The short answer is no. The longer answer is it really depends on the band and the venue. (IMHO) Smaller independent bands especially like to put big speaker sets and amps on their riders, even ridiculous things like 2 line arrays for a 200

Well, this certainly drags AirBnb into the eBay and PayPal sized fraud prevention industry... and I wonder how this will affect the vibe of the website. Certainly, AirBnB will survive this ordeal, and gain more name recognition from this ev
