For me, http://teddit.net remained accessible. I had forgotten the address, but dug it out via HN because of the current issue. Great UI; see the ~300 comments on it: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=25310206

The NC10 was/is a great machine. Considering the dimensions, it had a remarkably good keyboard. I also liked the "fanless mode". It felt quite sturdy, and, iirc, you could open the screen all the way down, to 180 degrees. The

The 1000x480 resolution seems interesting. Maybe this machine would make a good single-purpose device for writing. Also, somewhat related: Former Debian maintainer Joey Hess famously used a Dell Mini 9 for all his coding [1, 2]. I wonder if

While not (directly) a thinking game, I have always thought that playing basketball and handball in my youth taught me how to lose in dignity. Lose without blaming the referee or the other team. It's probably somewhat easier to accept

I tried "polyphasic sleep" about 10 years ago, and while I was mentally sharp at night (a huge surprise, as I had considered myself a definite morning person before), I also started to gain weight.

Agreed. I suppose someone losing his dad at 22 is, by and large, an anomaly in the welfare society. My dad died when I was 26. We had a really good, warm relationship, though: driving in his car, sitting side by side, not talking a single w
