Dumb question I'm throwing out there. What "sensitive" information do users keep on Twitter beyond their email and phone number? I mean who really cares? Unless I missed something here...

How did clerks/lawyers find those articles on Wikipedia? Through Google I reckon. I wonder how bad/good the search is for court judgements of their existing system. Sounds like they need to put those court judgements online, or if

In the B2B SaaS where I work we started using single use codes to log in for certain account types (non-admins). No password. We send you an email or an SMS with a 6-digit number. Copy/paste it to log in. Very much like 2FA except ther

Implementing soft deletes is a lessons every developer learns early in their career. The fact that Atlassian did not implement that in their cloud, is mind boggling. Great case study of a monumental fuck up!

Netflix is kind of stuck. They don't have expansion revenue and therefore growth prospects are limited to increasing subscriptions against now a very competitive, and almost commoditized market. The writing was on the wall that Disney+

I love Netflix for the instant content and no ads. The fact I can binge watch and not have to wait every week for an episode I love. I pay Netflix not to wait and not to be distracted by unsolicited content (i.e. ads or previews of other sh

FB is an ad business. Changing their DNA to something else is very hard to do. I had hope that Libra (now Diem) would bring them into personal finance. There are hard problems to solve and the industry is ripe for disruption. Every FB user

Legos are truly a marvel of engineering in terms of design, robustness and longevity. Dimensions are constant across time and parts last forever. Legos 40 years ago work well with today's pieces.

Laravel encourages the middle ground. Sprinkle Vue.js. I've worked in both MPA and SPA. The middle ground is much faster. You can pre-load objects in the page and then use AJAX to finalize loading. The user experience is snappier. The

Back-end routing is very solid. My experience is that front-end routing is complex and is hard to maintain. Multi SPA allows you to modularize your application into different concerns. Most of the time, an SPA can be limited to one action o

I couldn't agree more. It is a spectrum. <-- Fully MPA ... MPA with mini SPAs ... Fully SPA. --> Many don't venture in the middle. Not sure why. Do not stay on either end. It will bite you!

I fail to see how you lose if the internet remains free. Just avoid social media if it bothers you. I really don't mind social media being so big and growing. You don't have to live on their platforms.
