If all one has is CNN, MSNBC, Fox, and NPR then NPR feels like a (somehow calming) ocean of truth. I think starting circa 2013 there were a few huge stories which made people realize that the "hard-hitting" journalism they were re

That was fun to listen to but NPR programming always seems to have a grating turn in the middle of "gosh isn't it crazy how people in society don't trust anyone any more??? Not professionals or the government or even police!&

Well the success of the uncompromising tea party in taking over the Republican Party and leading the way to Trump seems pretty obvious. I’m not sure how anyone who follows Democrats wouldn’t see the constant compromises unless they’re cente

There’s so many head games that goes into US politics that seems pointless. Democrats in particular compromise with themselves so much before even offering something to republicans before compromising even more. Republicans pretty much neve

This looks awesome! Yesterday I just started another OS rust walk through and now I have a hard choice between that and this. Any thoughts on this[1] walkthrough in comparison? This one looks more explicitly up to date. [1] https:/&#x

There’s been plenty of strikes at Amazon, instacart, and others. Hell, there’s a growing movement for a rent strike in May as well. Just go figure the only widely covered protests are the right wing astroturfed ones...

That is interesting but probably not indicative of elsewhere. Portland OR is a bit techy and boogie but even then it has still been hit HARD. The places I frequent all have had drastically reduced hours and business. I haven’t heard of any

Statements like this sound so reasonable but they ignore the massive power imbalance. Amazon is the largest company in the world whose owner has literally bought news papers. Given that power I’m way more likely to believe the workers...

It’s fun how people only seem to talk or care about the national debt when it’s an election year. Almost as if it’s all a ploy to convince voters big projects that help them can’t be paid for. But sure enough the other 3 years of the cycle

I wonder about the damage Google does to any potential start ups in a field. How much buzz can you get when everyone’s first thought is “how could this be any good? Google already tried that and failed...”
