Growing up I though of NPR as a bastion of the left but the older I get the more cynical I become. Your take reminds me of the most infuriating story I heard on NPR about Amazon Seasonal workers. They spotlighted a retiree couple would supp

It’s really easy to win the crowd by calling everyone else biased. When FB is one of the biggest lobbyists in Washington I highly doubt the press has ever been critical enough. They got by on being the new darling child startup and built up

Huh you’re right about that. For some reason your heritage chart makes it look a lot more reasonable, which I don’t agree that it is. I’m guessing it has something to with comparing to GDP?

Not saying they are the same, just that when centrists come together they get a lot of bad things done. Also not surprised spending is down after the US left Iraq, would be surprised if it wasn’t overall up though. My point is, fighting “ze

I always hate the framing as “polarized”. There’s tons of things Democrats and Republicans agree on. Military spending goes up every year. Save for Dodd-Frank, deregulation has been common across presidencies for 30 years along with corpora

I think it’s their problem and not ours. No one ever wants to change and no matter how nicely you put things they’ll always feel attacked. It’s just how it work, ultimately no one really wants to change so they need to be pushed.

I mean the systems are programmed by humans right, why wouldn’t they have some of our biases? Not to mention once they’re made it gives everyone the excuse to say “oh sorry for bugging you I wasn’t being racist but my store’s AI said you

I mean sure, but a common issue with conspiracies is they become so pervasive in social media, like top comments on hacker news, and then draw in the not-so-conspiracy-minded in. That’s what I’m trying to preempt.
