The issue with this is that if you’re doing cookie cutter websites. At some point it’s going to be more efficient to abstract out the shared functionality and build a framework of some sort. You’ll become more efficient but you’ll either lo

This reminds me of 設定 (settei) setting, which can be used in terms of configuration, or in terms of setting the scene. And also sounds a bit like setting.

It's not being used twice though on any individual fork. Plus the value would have to split for any fork.

Yes you can - bitcoin held prior to the fork is valid on both chains. And yes it is still going up. An alternative scaling solution (to the big blocks proposed by the 'new' fork) Segwit will be going ahead - aiding the scalability

Someone else mentioned it: Invites still work. I still regularly use it. If you need an invite for some reason let me know.

I am not doubting you. I was saying something simpler: One Chinese-only character is enough to show it is not Japanese.

FYI I think the 绝 is only Simplified Chinese, 絕 in Traditional. I think 絶 is the Japanese equivalent.

I'm not asserting people should stop this communication anti-pattern for the sake of others or that it's an insult. I'm saying that framing things in this way can be bad for the mental health of the person who says it.

I'm with you on national, racial and cultural identity being fluid imprecise concepts. It's tangential to the point I was making in this post. But there's only so much appending of extra information/editing I can do and

My point is that the context there being 'in Japan' and so the adjective is redundant (and exhibits the problems I've mentioned earlier). And in that context he could say "The British police are awful" vs "The

It's a difficult nuance in the point I'm trying to make, so I apologise. It's probably not a great analogy but, I think that if you were in e.g. the USA and there was use of White American Judicial System, or White American P

It's kind of ironic how much he generalises Japanese people. See bad thing - link to Japanese people as a whole or in general, rather than the individual. It's an easy mistake to make. Especially if you do ever hear it in the inve

Does anyone know why the mosquitoes wouldn't evolve to be repulsed by others infected in this way? Or is this a similar class of problem to antibiotics becoming useless over time? I.e. it's useful to do now so let's cross tha

Plus the food - volcanic fertile soil literally goes into making you what you are. In Japan in winter (and summer) I wish that buildings had thicker walls and insulation. Damn earthquakes.

What would that look/behave like? I ask because I'm starting out on making some tooling for gaining insights into coupling and coherence in ruby, and I'm at a brainstorming phase. E.g. automatic domain concept detection and s

This approach works well for apps of a certain size and lifespan. Too many full-stack tests can easily lead to non-parallelized build times of an hour or so magnitude. Apps that end up in this state are much harder to change even with paral

I completely agree and an interesting way of putting it. Just to think of the counterpoint to this: I think my biggest takeaway from the USA was that it's stuck between two worlds -- one 20 years ahead, and one 20 years behind. They ha

My point is more that if it costs more to fix it now, than it does to fix it later (including the opportunity cost), then there is little point in fixing an extreme edge case now. Especially if it means having to understand every intricacy

Another possible conclusion: fix this several years from now, the first time it causes a test failure and still probably before it causes any production problems.

I'm talking more about the average response of individuals, a government apologizing doesn't mean as much if many citizens and some prominent politicians still deny or downplay it all. I'm talking about the average individual
