The statement "I've actually never seen a website that uses bcrypt or PBKDF2 in the real world" doesn't discredit the "Use bcrypt[/PBKDF2]" argument, though.

Am I the only one that thinks that Windows support was not really worth the time? Sure, you get to support a huge chunk of the OS market, but what are the real implications of Node running natively on Windows?

Agreed. The ML one is much more organized and the design and experience are both incredibly better. It has more of a classroom and course feeling to it, rather than the AI class's here's some video lectures and quizzes, now do the test

To add some perspective: WolframAlpha measures an average US household's yearly consumption at 12,000 KWh, or 32.8 KWh per day. The upper bound in the parent comment with the 50% fudge factor, 375 MWh per day, would power (375 MWh/32.8 KWh)

Like Palm's WebOS open source releases [0], this is the code of the modifications they made to open-source projects, some of which they are supposed to release under GPL. The title should be updated to reflect this. [0]: http://opensource.

Think about it this way: what's more important for Apple in the long term? To have the iPhone seen more often by people that already know about the iPhone and have their own feelings about it? Or, to usher in a potentially revolutionary way

Yeah. I really want to see this discussion taken in a direction where we're actually talking about Node.js and its computational (non-?)efficiency, instead of this needless back-and-forth.

This is the worst rant I've read in a while. It starts with lambasting the fact that Ted Dziuba didn't intend the Fibonacci example to be the one role model of comparing Node.js and other languages, and then the Node.js community (or at lea

Yeah, that too. I was thinking a ways out – if they can establish a community that occasionally springs up a sizable company, then they'll not only have the increased tax revenue, but will also be able to have multiple companies doing that.

Huh. Chile is taking a $6 million ($40,000 × 154, assuming they all accept) bet that one of them becomes successful in some way. I think the chances are pretty good.
