I lived in capitalism for 50 years. I’ve seen hyper capitalism reduce or remove education, devalue income and Labor, force people to work two or three jobs to survive barely. That’s in a western society where capitalism is supposed to work.

It seems like you are comparing to hyper capitalism taking over the internet and reduction of value for money spent, which would be appropriate for ChatGPT since it basically ushers in the area of paying a lot for zero value. Streaming and

Bitcoin just like capitalism is a horrible failure making life worse for humanity and no proof exists it made anything better. Both accelerate the destruction of the planet and humanity. It’s ridiculous to claim any of this is good just bec

If you speak Thai and do it via LINE messenger you get a much cheaper price though. Pricing seems to be inflated for foreigners.

Here is a quick one: old MacBooks run modern Linux just fine. You can run something like Proxmox on both and you suddenly have room for a few virtual machines running whatever you like.

The toys thing is exactly that. It is highly disrespectful and demeaning. And you keep on returning to this as if it was good when in reality it is signalling how low you actually value engineers. Maybe you just do not see it? IMHO respect

Still waiting for generated content to legally not be copyright able at all. IMHO only move that makes sense. Also refusing to call this AI. All of this is light years away from AI.

This article is a good example who managers look down on engineering in general. It’s all about placating engineers as kids who love their fun. It’s one thing to make engineers feel respected, but as this article nicely demonstrates the aut

This is a great loss. APU was my favourite system to bootstrap infrastructure in my home and labs because it was powered by coreboot and runs Linux out of the box, and also is one of the few low powered devices which still would outperform

This I disagree with a lot. Ansible does have a lot of unfinished playbooks out there or half baked ones. But there is solid documentation there which makes it pretty clear how to properly design things. Have a feeling people just don'

Companies should not be allowed to pay you less for remote work, since you shoulder the costs of work for office, energy, etc. Why should employees pay for saving money for the company?

This works even without the depends_on property. All you need to is have the module you use for creating the cluster have an output that is guaranteed to be a computed property. Then use that computed property as input variable for whatever

Those are really cute! You can optimize these a bit more using the Kraken.io web interface: https://kraken.io/web-interface Tried with a few and it shrinks them down ten to 20 percent savings without losing quality.
