Why don't we just couple rent and also house value increases to regular maintenance and improvements?
No value increase unless you keep at least original state and improve on it. Apply to any house older than 20 years, and a giant bubble bursts.

- marenkay 6y agoThat's not gentrification, see any dictionary. That's just enforcing existing laws in many countries. Many countries have laws that state that owned properties have to be maintained. It's just not enforced, so you can increase rent without providing a better place. (And I am saying that as a property owner)
