I was actually just talking to my wife today about a zenbo. I'm waiting for information (signed up for the developer program), but it seems good from the videos I saw (heh huge grain of salt here, perhaps a whole stack). I like the ide

Huh this was a really interesting write up on semi-obscured code. I had never seriously thought about crawling through popular sites code like that, I'm definitely going to have to give it a go!

Exactly. I don't understand the hesitation for using they or their. We will never be able to remember all the different pronouns people want to be called (without some sort of system to look it up constantly at least), I believe it

I am certainly in agreement. From what I can see they used social engineering for a few months, then dark patterned it so users would install. (Im referring to users being slowly trained to close the window saying upgrade, then that same cl

I think it's more towards the school of thought of 'if it isn't easy, most people won't. Installing an ad blocker isn't as easy as installing an add on someone links, you have to actively search for it (and require

Along those lines of thought I remembered an article about a troop of baboons with no alpha males left. http://bobsutton.typepad.com/my_weblog/2009/11/the-baboon-tr...

I have seen this in person. I was even told once by a teacher than anything the ALT's say must be true (even when it was defiantly not). It actually came about as i was a bit nervous about teaching a subject i hadn't done in a lo

I think you are spot on with that. The amount of training I received was very very minimal. My current company gave us one day training - most of that time was doing paperwork for the company. While I'm experienced(just over 4 years no

Yeah the conversation schools seem that way, I'm seeing more of a trend towards more classes and general communication though. There isn't much of a reason for those conversation schools to do better though, they rarely get called

As an English teacher I'm seeing a lot of change in the new generation of teachers. I teach high school student part time (so I can work on my side project), and the teachers over the age of 40ish have pretty terrible English(these ar

I found this explained a lot about the anti-trust case that I didn't understand. I'm not making a comment either way on the validity of the case, but it was an interesting read.
