As someone who isn't a fan of apples closed garden, I agree with your comment. While I would like to see a model where they all share data to train better assistants, I know that will never happen. Ontop of all that my side project wor

Different industry (chef here), but a similar experience. I wanted to try everything and thought my way was faster, now I'm older and more experienced I realise I wasted so much time on little things, and didn't grasp the big pict

I would argue the contrary, the advertisement the (edit)darknet (and silk road) and purchasing illict drugs received from this has facilitated and increased sales over many different sites. Not that I'm arguing they shouldn't have

I have a (serious) question, why don't you cook yourself? Is it more expensive to cook in your location? Lack of time? I have heard this argument a lot and am honestly wondering (I'm not from the us, I'm a chef, so for me thi

I'm not sure if it's third party, but here in Japan aost all 'western' fast food offers delivery. (Note I don't eat that crap so I have never ordered it, but I see their badged delivery going around a lot).

Commercial kitchems are very noisy, hell as soon as I turn on the extraction fans - without cooking anything, I think it would struggle. Plus during service everyone is too busy to even think of non-absolutely necessary talking.

I am working on an app(tie in with a cook book I'm writing), but that's aimed more at non chef's. The issue with anything for chef's is the kitchen is hot, wet with lots of oils and liquids going around. Most devices don

Not really, although I do avoid doing anything intensive KB wise. My stocktake is just inputting numbers, and then return, over and over. To format the document, I do that on my PC. Typing on the pad is a major pain in the arse honestly, pa

Aside from don't? Haha. My normal goto response is, unless you have a passion for fine dining, go do something that makes money, and just host dinner parties. Realistically though, two things. A) knife skills, learn them, though google

Yes and no. Some do, and those that Doe know the traditional are more likely to leave recipes(imho), so now I run a dual system. I'll offer the fish as both traditional, or the 'restaurant name' special version to add a twist

I use to be like that, try and run traditional only, and I lost a lot of customers to people who would update dishes. Food is like code, keep updating, or lose out to someone who does.
