> pulling the next React feature from some PM's backlog, that's hell. Why? The coding I don't like is when there is no requirements or path (architecturally, devops-wise) or when you need approval from too many stakeholder

Cool, I might try that out tomorrow. The link https://jsonresume.org/themes/ doesn't seem to work by the way.

It sounds like you're free to make your own assumptions and constraints. I would create an API with a payment endpoint, validation endpoint etc. Then I would have a basic web page calling those endpoints. I would not implement security

I would need to see a lot more than that to be impressed/worried. I love how there's even a serious bug in there - discounts at 80% instead of 20%

> They're very different crowds, and in very different types of companies. This is not a fact. I've seen both of your types in the same company. Let's not reduce people down to "you're either this, or this".

Oh that's fine then. I don't use the apps at all - I think they were required on set up though.

Thanks for posting - it's always good to see all views. It's disappointing because the book helped me a lot. It helped me understand sleep and how I should change my lifestyle to get more of it. I feel (no measure) that it has ben

As someone with both Bose QC IIs and the Sony WH-1000MX, this is annoying but not much I can do about it - they're expensive and I doubt I could resell them for as much (would reselling even be ethical now?). I also really like noise c

The answer I got from Matt Walker's "Why We Sleep?" was a list of benefits that we get from sleep and a list of negatives that we avoid. That is a sufficient answer for me. To ask why we need those benefits is a different que

I think exposure and knowledge of the technologies that my team uses is the most important. Our dev environment set up, coding standards, testing standards, release process etc will all be taught when joining the team. I haven't seen i

How many interviews have you done like this? I am in Europe and my graduate interviews were similar to this but I assumed more experienced interviews would be more leetcode style..

Yeah, not too different. No user submitted links though and no comment system (at least when I first make it live). To be honest, I'll probably be the only user!

I am developing a site where the landing page only shows news about topics from sources you have chosen to see. There will be some limited interaction with those news stories. On a shared page, everything is brought together and you'll

It really depends on the component under development but what I find is that devs that know the product can contribute to team discussions and planning far better than ones that don't.

Harsh but I understand what you mean. I see it on Twitter all the time. People tweet nuggets of useless 'advice' and other people lap it up. Those other people also tweet in this style. Sometimes I think I am looking at bots inter

I work in an agile/scrum team. Do you have any experience in tracking the design doc work in this type of environment? It's hard to estimate how long a design doc would take since investigation into the solution and conversations

Good point - the 'fly to Spain' example wasn't the best. Running through multiple things in my head.. it seems the most powerful thing is to have a good initial question so the inversion actually helps.

Is the link in the blog post a good place to start? ( https://fs.blog/mental-models/#what_are_mental_models ) or do you have an alternative suggestion?
