Yes, keep it in a decent bank, and don't bother with bonds or equity. If you find some project that you're passionate about, then don't be afraid to burn through a little bit of your savings in order to learn and explore.

Have you identified any books for the "starting a business", "online marketing", and "personal branding books"? From my experience, it seems unlikely that there are enough quality books about those things to read one book per week and get a

I finished a PhD in pure mathematics three years ago and then abandoned academia because it's stale. My degree opens a lot of doors, enables me to attack problems that nobody else can fathom, and generally allows me to do whatever the hell

I think the main issue is that it's locked down to the iPad. Hardly any school districts have iPads and there are a slew of "educational tablets" in the pipeline from manufacturers like Intel. I'd only build something with Apple's platform

I'm not really answering your question.. but Khan Academy is not a serious contender in education. So maybe some teachers use it, but Khan Academy is not going to disrupt anything in K12 a serious way. They might do something to consumer ed

I found "Man's Search for Meaning" at exactly the right time in my life. It changed my life, but this might have more to do with the timing.

Should "everywhere" be "anywhere"? To me, "Click everywhere to go ahead" means that, in order to proceed, I must click everywhere.

In my field of mathematics, there is a massive effort to unify/classify/generalize some of the mathematical structures discovered over the last 30-40 years. (for example, non-commutative geometry as presented by Alain Connes: http://www.al

I have a suggestion: Start with all of the text at full darkness and lighten non-focused columns on mouseover. (Instead of starting lightened and darkening on mouseover.) This achieves the same thing, but without the many of the usability i

There are already some great answers to this question. Math begins with intuition. We don't memorize facts in order to build intuition -- we explore, discover, and synthesize. Formalism is an impediment to the early stages of this process.
