AFAIK MacRuby already works in this way, using the existing (Obj-C) Cocoa frameworks in conjunction with the MacRuby runtime.

At this stage I really don't see Nokia going down the Android path, given their commitment to Windows Phone 7.

This seems very cheap, I wonder if that means the other pieces of Final Cut Studio will be sold separately on the App Store? EDIT: Also I wonder if being cheap means that some 'pros' will take it less seriously, or worry that it won't be su

I'm glad Apple is continuing to work hard on their software offerings, given that they have slightly less incentive to do so than a company such as Adobe. I'm just hoping to see the same kind of love for Logic Studio sometime soon, a lot of

I really resent this. I don't know about you guys but I don't think of myself as a 'geek' or a 'nerd'. Having a high level of domain specific knowledge doesn't mean you need a label, it just means that you are good at what you do. I am a cr

Did you read the article? There is a section entitled "Digital Compression" which actually seems to be just describing the nature of digital representation of sound, and what happens when you reduce the resolution of that representation ie.

I'm not complaining it's inappropriate, certainly it's on topic, just highly misinformative. Honestly I thought people had gotten over ignorantly repeating the "Loudness Wars" meme by now.

I have fantastical thoughts of some kind of surface that can alter its shape to provide the tactile feedback that touchscreens are lacking... though these thoughts will likely remain in the domain of science fiction.

Useless and irrelevant comments such as this one, along with it's many replies, contribute to signal-to-noise degradation of the discussion section of many popular HN posts. Maybe collapsible comment threads would help to mitigate this.
