I was quite impressed by this video[1] shot with an iPhone 4S, especially it's handling of motion/auto stabilisation. [1] http://vimeo.com/30578363

Mobile devices don't yet support WebGL either. If you want to do 3D on mobile you have to use CSS 3D Transforms (not supported on some platforms) or Canvas Context2D with a "software" renderer (slow).

iTunes 10.5 is now available[1]; it's probably a good idea to download it if you're waiting to update to iOS5. [1]: http://www.apple.com/itunes/

What I found kind of icky was the fact that he keeps saying "Steve Jobs" all the way through the article in a way that doesn't feel natural; more like keyword spam.

It's good to hear, but it'll have to be pretty damn impressive to retake the ground lost to Sublime Text 2 and vim.

Not sure about the machine but according to Romero[1] Quake (as with Doom) was developed on NeXTSTEP 3.3, which they continued to use, later running on Intel hardware, until 1996. QuakeEd on NeXTSTEP: http://rome.ro/uploaded_images/qe_dev-

Your knowledge of web font usage is a bit out of date. @font-face allows use of custom fonts on the web, and works across all browsers[1]. As for your font rendering issues, either you need to turn ClearType on, or turn it off and on again

AAA games on PS3 don't usually make use of OpenGL ES, direct manipulation of the graphics hardware is where it's at (same with the Wii).

A news story I saw last night about synthetic sausages contained a vox pop from a woman who claimed that she would not eat them because it was "unethical". I have to say, my mind was blown by her apparent construction of ethics.

Clearly you're not a Mac OS X "power user" as you claim to be, because you seem to be ignorant of very basic Mac OS features, like enabling text labels for the toolbar.

I think you're missing the point of "Trust no one". You don't scan it, just use it in a disposable environment (usually a VM, on a non-valuable machine) and see what it does.
