Why not just regularly back up your machine? I wouldn't expect apple store techs to recover my data anyway if I had to bring in a machine for repairs.

The only AV 'software' I use is Common Sense™. That and frequent backups have been pretty effective so far. YMMV though...

Cool I guess, as long as sound quality is not degraded. On the plus side, something like this would probably take a lot of stress off the headphone cables when you accidentally jerk them.

Yep, at work we were going thru some old powerbooks prepping them for e-waste and the keyboards had that BO smell. Apparently its the glue used in the keyboard, or something like that.

I say take it, unless you are currently employed elsewhere. It can't be worse than unemployment, monetarily speaking. Plus, if you don't like the fit you can always leave (unless its a contract situation, etc).
