well it depends on if you can or can't know in advance if you are tracked on some website. but if you are worried of tracking there are allready available solutions to that problem . like proxyes, but that is another safety hazard by itsel

Stallmans reminds me of Ted Kaczynski unabomber. (no offence) similair world view, he doesn't care of inovation because probably thinks that it leads to more controlled society. both are Neo-Luddites. only Kaczynski was more radical in his

API is more general term for programming interface whose function is not nessecarilly obtaining data. (it could also be updating or deleting data). this .data TLD as i understand would be just for obtaining data from website in structured w

The whole presentation is superficial, I think that if we suddenly lobotomize whole population, the man made machines would not suddenly become smarter and more intelligent but physically would stay the same. Yes in some time after hypoteti

weren't humans put to death by killing or stealing horse. when horse was vital resource this was considered righteous thing to do. So to answer;. if AI was somehow vital resource to someone , it could possibly be that someone would get sent

it is important to mention "ability to survive by its own or in group" to be politically correct, for example little babies usually cant survive on its own but can survive in a group. so they usually have right to live. morality is just ano

something like that, anyway im not saying that i know the future of machine and know it would survive. and therfore i don't know if it has right to live. saying that something doesn't have right to live is not same as being able to kill it

no no, that was not what i was saying. if you kill a cow it is dead and therfore not survived.

well it is hard to tell without predicting the long term future. I mean if we eradicate all malaria something else may also happen as a consecuence that we were not aware now but is bad for us.

if the machine is capable of surviving on its own or in groups then it has right to live. doesn't matter how "intelligent" or "self aware" it is.

I imagine, that this space warfare as described in article will only be preceding the real war. once this unmanned missiles are exhausted . if invading force has won. it will try to land on the resource that it is fought for, (planet, moon,

yea but humans are not very predictable so if humans are sent we can't predict very well what will happen to them, and mission to colonize mars. in case of machines this would all be computed even before it started.

i think is not my idea but why not first send self-replicating machines on mars wich will mine for materials. and then send human when it is all prepared. or another stage of self replicating machines?

and you forgot to mention most important, computer simulations witch are virtual but contributes to real. if you are going to send colonization probe to few ly distant planet you are have to have some badass simulation first.

two other possible solution: - there are many advanced civilizations in our galaxy, and each tries to colonize whole galaxy, but it takes much longer than 100 million years. because of competition and other unknown reasons. - colonization i

yeah but in practice you can't just design without at least writing test program to gather intelligence. I mean you can but it would be like living in a fiction world.

there is probably more chance of finding intelligent life on planet that is not habitable and can't originate life. because once life becomes "intelligent" it will probably try to colonize more than one "uninhabitable" planet by intelligent

yep true, but i meant "big picture" of that particular function, poor choosing of words. but it would be more cool if you somehow would be able from one function see big picture of whole project like in fractals or some thing. :-)

I don't like it (PostgreSQL example) because you can't see big picture but must scroll up and down until you understand. And human tends to put ambiguous comments. so i just don't read it if i don't have to. Comments that contains examples
