Excellent article! I agree with all points here. I think one of the most important is "Emacs is easy to configure". You just Google a problem and copy 2 lines in your .emacs. No need to click here and there, then find out you have to do it

Science seems to agree with you [1]. The human race is so successful because from almost birth on, humans are collaborating. Some patterns can be seen where small children are much more willing to collaborate and after success to share the

The usual boring response on that, but which I found always more true every day, is that you've got to enjoy the path forward to actually be happy. When looking back to my life, I think the moments I were going forward were the happy times

I don't want anyone snooping around my medical history, except myself. My doctor should only have the right to look at my paper history or my iPad (with secure, offline data). Don't assume governments are more or less evil than companies.

Yes. Near the French / Italian border there are targeted controls for counterfeited products. Common sense should tell you you can't get a Gucci bag for 200$, or anywhere outside of a luxury shop ;) And yes, you are also liable if you were

I don't think it is. I guess the problem that should be tackled is not how the movies & music are actually done, but rather the way they are sold. The problem in my view - without pointing at anyone - is that not enough people are willi

I'd say Lady Gaga is clearly at a much higher level than Madonna musically. Hear her sing with Tony Bennett. Madonna is good at marketing, but did she write her own music or plays the piano? Behind all the provocation, Gaga is a talented mu

For me it conflicts with the Gnome Terminal Solarized theme though. I had to switch to GTK Emacs (from emacs -nw) to get the color scheme to work. But it looks fantastic now :)

Frankly, I don't understand at all why you got downvoted here. Agree with you. The only issues I see now are a possible China hard landing or a massive jump in energy prices. For the second, one should act harder toward renewable energies,

But ultimately stocks have to pay a dividend. I agree that a bond-only system would lead to a lot of junk bonds, but mainly because lot of stocks are also junk. In any case, some bonds belong to a balanced portfolio. Too much people have to

I guess that in any kind of game you have a system to sort out the worst players. Going after your theory, there are sure plenty of 1/100000 out there, but they never get in a major development project. Another point: there are also superst
