Speaking of "Bad for Brain", InfoQ's website is the worst thing to happen to exposition in computing since leet-speak. I have seen better aesthetics in an government risk-mitigation newsletter. They get rockstar speakers, but drab them in c

Opposite. More like FFI/JNI to Bosch/Qemu. Android NDK, and other foreign-function interfaces are a way to de-secure & de-manage secure code: a controlled mechanism for stepping out of the sandbox. Google NaCL, like other virtualizers,

Now that anon denied it, I have a suspicion whoever released this announcement also sent a security resume/bid to Facebook. Looks like someone creating a need for himself.

If you're a rural cop in need of funding, any brown guy will look like a Mexican cartel hit-man. You can see the same sentiment elsewhere; here in Australia there are horror stories of Sydney/Melbourne/OtherDenOfEvil gangs moving to the cou

Cons is an implementation detail that no longer exists in reality. Most Lisps implement conses as arrays, and some Lisps, like Dylan, don't even use them to represent structure. No programming language will survive a 1000 years. Not many wo

Galaxy Tablet + Eclipse and official JDK is what I use. Pretty streamlined. On Unix and Mac you don't even have to install the USB driver. I really have no complaints; there is no live REPL, but you have the second best, code getting static

Lisp has its short comings, specially as an "industrial" language, but it wins hands down as an individual language. I wouldn't use Lisp in my assembly-line, CRUD factory, but it will serve an artisan quite well.

I was tasked with finding a compute cluster for a small gov contractor research lab. I spoke with IBM, Sun, SGI, Dell you name it. None could inform me more than their brochures. Then I filled a form on LinuxHPC website. Quotes from smaller

It's a "sub-story" only if you make it to be. What you can do also is not give a shit and not look for debacles, existent or otherwise. I'm more interested in how the issue is resolved, not how it's escalated. Does the women get compensated
