That's the hardest part. Once you're passed day 3 it's easier. I only fast for 7 days once or maybe twice per year. It's also easier if you're eating keto the weeks prior to the fast.

Fasting is the best way to burn fat. Either intermittently or for extended periods of time. I've done 7 day water fasts with minimal muscle loss. Caloric deficits don't work longterm since you're decreasing your basal metabol

Everyone I tip to is verified. And the BAT sits in an address until that creator does verify. And yeah of course the tips are in BAT, the whole point is to increase the value of the network. Also, people are donating BAT that they've g

I tip content creators that I enjoy with BAT. How is that a bad use case? This blind hatred for anything crypto is toxic to this community.

I think a lot of right wingers in North America would say that regulations such as taxing carbon, or providing government incentives to solar or wind farms would be considered a socialist centrally planned catastrophe. I mean, that's w

At 1000 ppm of CO2 human cognition starts to decline. At 2000 ppm you're looking at severe cognitive decline, drowsiness, headaches. Letting it get that high is dangerous just on the basis of CO2 concentration alone.

I'm sure this is where this is coming from, but if not, Sam Harris's latest podcast is about mental models. I know it's not a book, but I found it insightful.

I used to be firmly in the CICO camp, with the whole 1st law of thermodynamics as a sane argument. But I've recently changed my views on this. If you think about it, the human body doesn't have a 'calorie sensor'. All it

Yeah I'm aware of the biological reasons for why I feel the way I do when I fast. There's a lot of science backing why fasting is good for you, and it has to do with mTOR and the science behind apoptosis, for which Yoshinori Ohsum

I'd agree with all points, but you should really aim for a non-negotiable 8 hours of continuous sleep time. At 7 hours total sleep time, you're still in a sleep deficit as an adult. As we age, we get less and less stage 3 and 4 de
