You are misusing the idea of evolution. Evolution requires a sufficient number of generations and individuals. I think both are not given in this context.

When you see a group singing in the street and you want to sing the song with them, do you first sign some legal documents or do you just sing? Copyright and patents have become a cancer.

I never went to school or university to learn obsolete or unnecessary things. Math, starting from a certain point, is useless for most people, still it is required to be learnt. Math might be a good tool to measure how good a person can thi

I like having pictures in a text, and exactly where they are referenced. If an image is not necessary for the text, then leave it out, or put it into the annex.

It's not that I don't like narrative or couldn't appreciate opinion. But I want them seperated from the facts. If the title of the article promises interesting news and facts, then that is what I expect. When I want narrative

This is an interesting read. It is not intertwined with a story I have no interest in. It links to useful references. It has facts, not an opinion to share.

Yes, they do have to do with XMPP. Conversations had for some time encryption enabled by default, but they needed to disable it again. I think XMPP is doomed, because it doesn't enforce the things I listed, and I think it will never do

Conversations is substantially inferior to WhatsApp. No encryption by default. No sent and read receipt by default. User account and password hazzle. No audio chat. No video chat. XMPP just doesn't cut it.

If we were talking about self-published articles, I'd agree, but we are not. We are talking about self-published journals. Under self-published journals I understand a journal brought out by the researchers or research organisatons. I

The money for the research does not come from Elsevier nor the journals, at least not in Germany. If they could get rid of Elsevier and go open access, they would have more money for the science.

What I think is even more frustrating is that OMEMO is not required by default. I try to communicate with a group of people without WhatsApp, but I'm not in a position to tell them each which options to check, and what to look for. Tha

I wouldn't say that your point necessarily offends anybody. My point is that it might be not clever to present it like that. One way to get rid of enemies is to befriend them.
