You can always work in the military industrial complex. Lot’s of gray hair, including myself. Most under 35 don’t know WTF they are doing anyway; sometimes amusing to watch them flop, then $$$ for me to fix their mess.

Wiring harnesses are a major weight savings. If you wired them all in serial, then that wire is a single point of failure. Otherwise you’d have 65k wires going to each one.

You can selectively hit areas with cold spray (i.e. duster turned upside down). Could be a bad/oxidized connector, cracked solder joint, tombstoned part. Only worth diagnosing it for curiosity.

I had an electronic module that worked in our lab, but failed at the customers, but then worked again in ours. Turns out one of the pins in a space grade connector (MDM-25) open-circuited exactly between 68F and 70F. Our lab was 70F, and t

Wow, didn’t know they had one. I wonder how they handle the licensing as there would be no one to complete the 5 year understudy; chicken and the egg.

Yes. I don’t think there is even a PE licensing path for software, so even with a CS degree you could never become a licensed engineer. You have to work under a PE for 5 years, then take the PE exam, then CE credits. I have an MSEE, but c

What is qualified in Austria? In the USA, in most states, you must be licensed to have engineering in your business name. Your name is usually suffixed with PE.

00 stainless tweezers and 2x-40x stero microscope will be fine down to 0201. Eventually you’ll need a demagnetizer for the tweezers. For 01005 you’ll need ceramic tweezers.

I saw them on the Persistsnce if Time tour, opening for Maiden. Of course they had a giant clock on stage, probably influenced by the watches. Speaking of ergonomics, why do they hunch over with eye loupes when inspection microscopes with

Ditto, EE too. I bought a copy of Abramowitz and Stegun just for the great table of Laplace Transforms. If I were a professor, I’d ban all electronics from the room. All the decent professors handed out copies of the notes anyway, or wrot

Good! I find realtors to be parasites. We sold my wife’s house FSBO, which was not hard at all. My mother just bought a house also FSBO. No parasites involved, and everyone comes out the better. You can always get a real estate lawyer t

If there are already power and telephone poles, they can run fiber. I don’t understand why the whole, damn country could be wired for power, but they can’t run a dammed fiber cable.
