But then you don't account for fiscal evasion. For eg. in Italy the taxes on the lower wages are higher due to the impossibility to evade (they are detracted from the salary by the employer)

It reminds me of Land and Overland by Bob Shaw: "The setting for the trilogy is a pair of planets, Land and Overland, which orbit about a common centre of gravity, close enough to each other that they share a common atmosphere." T

The main reason seems to be linked to the cost of living: salaries in EU are lower only numerically. 50K€ have the same purchasing power of 150k$ in SF (EU devs pay rent, a car, savings, have holidays, etc.) However the really STRANGE thing

That's why we initially preferred Flowdock over Slack (but I think now we have a clear winner, and I use mostly Slack)

I find the "Digital Nomad" new trend confusing, most of the times they are just offering relocation help in exchange for cheap work

The genial part, from the article: So in summary, what we built does this: The server calculates the journey times and renders them to palette-based tiles. It then sends these to the client encoded in Base64, and with the initial b

You should have said that with "Free style templates" what you really mean is a BPEL. The first time I've seen the project I've thought "oh no, another MVC framework!" Now that I've seen the {put [status => "shipped"] in "/orders/

Maybe he should have said: - Symfony2 has a way way better debug toolbar and profiler - a better integrated assets management (through Assetics and Capifony, both external projects but a de-facto standard, also documented in the main docs)

Also, the attacker code need only to achieve a limited success rate (eg: ~10%). Think of a gmail account creator: 1000 requests * success_rate = 10 accounts per minute. Not bat at all.

Thanks, I've asked because I've read somewhere that an average request for a "Miss from cloudfront" object was ~1 second, and I thought that your data was confirming that value.

Since there is a 1005ms latency for a cache-miss, for the average user the loading times are shorter? (based on your data on hit/miss ratio) I was thinking to use Cloudfront to lower the latency (not costs) for dynamic resources, because i

Nice work! A feature that I'd like to see is to show the results in a table-like structure. MongoDB collections doesn't have a defined structure, but usually the documents are all almost identical, and it would be useful to show them in a t

I haven't notice that Graphite is written in python, this is a plus (since we have several projects in python). However, why should I prefer Graphite over, for eg, Munin? It's still open source but also has a proper documentation.

I've tried Pypy to speed up a background worker that create collages of 300-500 images, this is my experience: - The JIT optimization doesn't survive between different runs of the script. Since I run a different script for every collage, I
