I personally think that just the way the employer is required to document the reasons for firing, the person going off on media must also provide proof that they were being treated unfairly.

Employers need solid documented reasons for firing someone. Fired person needs proper recourse for appealing it if they felt it was unfair. Going to NYTimes is OK if there is solid proof of racism, the company needs to face the consequences

That's why I removed it. I am asking the questions in good faith. I want to know how the society will avoid having chilling effect of not being able to fire underperformers and making difficult choices when they need to be made. If we

No one is questioning its legality. That's obvious and I agree, it is illegal. There are a lot of things that are illegal but people do it anyways.

That's an insane accusation. You can check my comment history perhaps that will reveal some aspects of it. Also, I am kind of shocked you would accuse of me something like this. WTF. I am not trolling. I am asking a difficult question

I think it is causing a reverse effect. It's going to create more racist behavior from employers - "If we cannot fire a PoC or some minority, let's not even bother hiring them in the first place." This is not good.

I removed it. I know its going to be downvoted though. Because it is going against the grain on HN. But, I am being respectful. We've created an atmosphere of fear. I don't feel comfortable voicing my opinions even after being ano

I have a genuine question: If a person of color (I am myself non-white) is not performing, what does it take to fire them without the entire world playing the race card on you? Are we creating a society that makes it impossible to fire a pe

I personally know people that work very hard 12 hours a day and their output is stellar. Not only are they creative, but they build some of the most amazing systems I've ever come across in record time. They're handsomely paid wit

Sending humans to put a flag on the moon is an entirely different challenge than sending a robot to do the same.

Definitely. Sports in a benign way and through wars in a catastrophic way. The internet has created other strongly bonded echo-chambers. Elon Musk lovers/haters for example.

Once they vest, you can sell them in the market. Vesting period varies. The whole point of stock grants is that you have some what of a skin in the game.

Any specific packages you recommend for setting up email? I would think there is some docker container I can run in a VM and go about my business.

I get the compositional aspects of it. I've used similar utility css classes. They're pretty nifty because its instant gratification. No need to switch context and go to Sass. However, for production, I always come back and refact

I am arguing that the speed is a delusion and the reason why people love it so much. It seems very attractive to design things super fast since you have instant control in the same context as HTML, but I question the maintainability, readab

Agreed on the tokenization but you can do this via variables in Sass. And put constraints as well! Comment them! Write for loops to create a full spectrum of tokens! Then use those tokens to create a card class. Extend it for customer-suppo

Agreed and that’s it’s only selling point. Fast is not always better. It makes spaghetti code with shit design that lacks an architect behind it. There are many threads on HN about Tailwind and it’s always very controversial. I wouldn’t cal

Oh please. Tailwind’s entire premise stands on these pillars which are shaky at best: - Developers don’t want to write css so they add insane amounts of nuisance in templates. Impossible to read the design language. - The original author of

This is an extremely broad claim, do you have anything to back that up with? Saying that Google would snoop your personal phone (which doesn't have your Google work account) as a Google employee needs some hard facts to back that up.

Then don't give your phone to Google. Don't use personal phone for work. Ask them for a phone if they want you to use it. Why is this difficult? Why complain about something that is 100% in your control? Employer that has thousand
