Testcontainers are anything but fast in my experience. With the image pre-pulled, the most basic mysql testcontainer takes about 5 seconds from calling RunContainer to it being ready to go.

After the fact. That doesn't change thr E fact that a card with a $500 limit can generate a $10k invoice, which you need to go to your manager to tell them about.

I think it's less about does it really matter, and more about do we have a solution for this/is this something that will spread and we need to negotiate a price on.

I work in a small company and we use a few services that bill for active users, and sync with g suite. It reduces the overhead of admin for me significantly as it means I know we're only paying for people who use the service that month

This sounds awful for everyone involved. No breaking APIs ever. How many man hours have been wasted supporting platforms that are dead for 20 years. Look at C++'s modules - they've taken 15 years to get to where we are now - they&

I'm European, and generally support the idea of these kinds of regulations, but this is onerous if it is what you say. You're forcing people to indefinitely support an app against a moving target - that's fine on windows, but

Pulling my entire repository clean from source control takes longer than your entire uncached pipeline. A clean build on a 16 core machine with an SSD and a GB network is about 4 hours including checkout. Our cached builds are 15 minutes in

At work, most of our deployment pipelines are something along the lines of "get some credentials, call a remote API and wait for it to say it's done". Occasionally, they also have "download this large binary from S3 and

I disagree - you should ensure your dependencies are clearly listed. Docker excels at this - it's a host platform independent way of giving you a text based representation of an environment.

Perforce doesn't need to because nothing really threatens it. They're not interested in becoming more known, because they don't need to be. I can't imagine Debian of all projects using a proprietary VCS though.

I've been a discord user since the very beginning - I joined in July 2015. In almost 10 years of using discord, I've never had to do anything, even a required updated. I've paid for Nitro on and off over that time, and am cur

I suspect you might have been the same age in 1999 as I was in 2004. To me, the games from 2004/2007 have shaped and defined the games being released now. CoD rewrote the shooter genre and is still one of the biggest games in the world

I think 2004 and 2007 were industry defining. 2004 had CS:S, Half Life 2, GTA:SA, Halo 2, UT04, World of Warcraft (!) 2007 had Wii Sports (well, that was 2006...) Halo 3, COD4, Mario Galaxy, Assassins Creed, Portal, Bioshock, Uncharted.

I think that the $5 tier is a little tight for a web app as opposed to a crud app, but 2x $40 tiers is enough for a decent amount of traffic, with one as a failover. The problem is that containers are excellent, and IMO there's a gap i
