Thanks. Just arrived and saw that. It’s not that bad though. I’m not using them for GarageBand though. Phew :)

I’m waiting for some airpods to be delivered today so this is painful to read. I don’t mind a few ms of latency but are we talking noticeably bad latency? The only experience I have is with BT pairing with my car for music. I don’t even use

Not any more. T470+ are horrible and they’ve started using glue in some of the newer X1’s apparently. I haven’t been blessed with a broken one yet though which is probably good.

Less so recently. T440 and later are a terrible for reliability. Endless battery, charging problems and dead ports around the 4 years mark or so. In fact my T470 has just decided it doesn’t want to recognise any external batteries. Thankful

This isn’t usually case. There’s an “inverted bell curve” of failures. You get a lot of early failures then few in the middle of the lifecycle and then rapidly growing failures towards the end. It’s difficult to predict what that curve loo

Indeed. This smells like a company I worked for about 20 years ago. The engineering team had an idea and were checking feasibility. The sales team overheard a meeting about it and proceeded to prepare a marketing pack for it which leaked ou

Firefox is going down the toilet as well. Lots of me-too-isms are appearing. Really my point was in jest. I think we need to trash the entire www and start again with something content only focused and hard same-origin policy and far far fa

The mythical programmer that can use Rust without bugs doesn’t exist either. I deal with higher level languages than rust and we’re capable of writing just as dangerous stuff through implementation errors.

This. It is hard coded all over the place in thousands of things. In fact is it even git any more if the master branch isn't called master? Nope it's an incompatible fork by Microsoft purely by a chance encounter of irony.

Not completely. I've seen hard deadlocks on ReaderWriterLockSlim on high thread counts on 8+ core nodes on .Net core (2.1). Literally all threads in a process jammed on spin waits. This is especially frustrating as the concurrent colle
