I think maybe it's a bit of a notation problem. They seemed to have been talking about programming as just the "writing the code" phase. We all understand programming as the last step in solving a real problem. You have to un

I've never realized how much I hate that meandering and how difficult it's becoming to go through those overlong pieces until I saw it verbalized in this thread.

I think it's possibly the same or similar. I don't buy the pioneering mission with people who go knowing that they're not going to get back and possibly die of radiation exposure. I think nobody is going up there until there&

One thing is having the technology to send a rocket to Mars, another thing to have a completely functional and self-sustaining colony, that doesn't depend on Earth supplies and that offers the possibility of a life that is not just gro

I think we'll achieve singularity level mind uploading before anyone physically goes to any other planet. And, to be honest, makes a lot more sense to do it that way. Carrying humans around, with limited lifespans and feeble bodies, ma

I don't disagree but listening to the absolute nonsensical, lie riddled incoherent rambling of the current POTUS makes me believe I don't really know what charisma is.

Charlatans don’t really do clear. Look at Deepak Chopra, it’s also going to be difficult to do demonstrably false stuff. It’s mostly vague mumbo jumbo that’s intuitively nonsense. Still, saying that we are unwiser now than before the enligh

Saying that we are unwiser post-enlightenment than in the dark ages is pure charlatanism in my opinion, however vague than statement is. The arrogance argument is more arguable but in the context it makes it look like the only thing we got

It's these deluded comparisons that make blockchain proponents look silly. The "traditional banking system" provides orders of magnitude more services than a blockchain. They are just not comparable.
