Hm, that seems like a strange rationale. "The other fail so we should, too?" That's not the guide I use for my software.

I don't understand how this could be considered not a bug. Clearly, the unit was intended to run as 0day, not root. I must be missing something.

I think it's OK to have short passwords if you block access after a few wrong login attempts. The password reset Form you've described is ridiculous, though.

Thunderbird allows editing the From header. I think this was a recent change from last year. I deleted my huge identity list.

This must have been a long time ago. In my local super market it is harder to find UHT milk than fresh milk in the fridge. Which by the way has a two week shelve life because it is highly filtered.

This has been posted previously (2008, 2009) with no comments. I'm interested in HN's opinion on this. Does any bug tracker support that feature? I haven't seen it in the ones I'm using.

My colleague wrote his diploma thesis with a voice recognition software (the market leader) because he sucks at typing. Desktop voice recognition can't be that bad.

I'd say probably too much effort? First, it does an exhaustive search on all possible instruction combinations. Second, it does not _prove_ that the resulting instructions do the same as the original code. It shows it only for some ran

I'd say, your base-1-million system is virtually impossible to make... But you are right: what counts is how much information you can store or process per square inch / per Watt, not really how many components you need to achieve

I don't think F# is close to Python, quite the opposite, actually. What does F# have in common with Python except for 'tabs instead of braces'?

I very much prefer the classic structure of a scientific article. In my experience, articles that do not adhere to the classic structure have other errors in their content. This article has only examples in the "results" section b

One difficulty with storing closures is storing and transferring functions, in particular between machines. There is progress in this direction, but it is not easy.
