Great post. Two points: ..If you don’t inspect the wget script you might as while pipe it into bash. .. How to distribute secrets if not by env? (which I agree! Honest question)

I did not say nor act that it is the right way. I think it is easier to reason about code if you cannot (accidentally) represent things that don’t exist in your model, which in my experience happens very easily with mutable state. I used a

I've tried that path with little success. Usually, arg parsing makes me try some other language (perl, python) but other things got complicated there, mostly running other processes, capturing their exit status, pipe-ing their output e

I think we should /not/ emit CO2, instead of (just) taxing it, just as I think you'd prefer a clean pool over a dirty pool plus some money. Yes, taxed CO2 will make things better, but I don't think it will make things go

To me, a carbon tax sounds like it’s ok to piss into the pool as long as you pay for it. Nobody’s using the money to clean the pool, though. Sure, some will try to piss less, but I doubt you’d like to swim in it. For me, that’s the rational

I don’t understand the hypothesis of the experiment. People are better off if you gift them a lot of money? Who would have thought? On a side note, I highly dislike that Bloomberg hijacks the back button

Very educating! I was surprised that there was the possibility of a race condition where it starts two processes for one path.

Same routine, except I don’t leave the house. I’m thinking about actually doing that. :-) I learned it helps my mind to get into “work“ mode when I put on my office clothes. Not so much if I stay in a T-shirt.
