My main point was telling my family I am not available although I am physically present. Next was not to do housework in between. It always takes longer than I anticipate.

Thanks! I miss the part where it explains how it works. Is it all just containers?

So, the main feature is that updates happen for all packages at once and not for each package individually. Sounds interesting, even for non cloud setups. How does that work? The explaining image does not explain that. How is that different

Did I read that comment right? Instead of my ISP, Cloudflare can watch my browsing history?

The problem IS durability, not the physics but the functionality just because the company decided to stop supporting the main function for the customer: playing music.

These are speakers that play music. There is nothing „to keep up“. The network is still the same, the codecs are, everything. It’s ok if old products don’t have new features. It’s not ok if old products don’t work anymore just because the c

So true! It would be reasonable if they said that only the newer devices get the newest features. Instead, they chose to upgrade all devices until they are maxed out and then turn around to their pioneering customers telling them they need

I get it if I wanted new features. I don’t get it if I just want to stream music, the very reason why I bought a Sonos speaker in the first page. Threatening to just discontinue this service for no reason is just not cool. I see my mistake

So this is mostly about UI. I would have agreed that many operations take very long, eg. accessing our web-based info system or waiting until outlook open or closes that window. It‘s strange that these operations don’t happen instantly nowa

Shouldn’t they come to me then and look into my phone instead of constantly looking into my messages on the server? I think the door is a great analogy.

I’m sure this will help proofing papers. There will still be the problem of proofing that the software proofs what it is intended to proof.

I’m glad there is so much free software! I think this shows how superior this volunteer model is over, say, a capitalist approach.

I was not arguing against volunteering. From the article, I just did not understand what was described in the title. I’m glad there is so much volunteering, I think the current climate crisis shows that capitalism cannot work for everything

It’s a well written article. I did not get the point where the internet relies on people working for free. Yes, free software such as curl is in use, but where does the internet rely on it? If there were no curl, there would be something el

I agree. I want to add the rumor that you can live on potatoes alone. At least one guy reported he did it for six weeks and the medical checks did not find any malnutrition. Don’t know how scientific that anecdote is, though.
