I mined NiceHash for a bit. Made a couple of grand doing it (I also pay for 100% wind power), but I didn't really consider the impact it would have. I saw the $10 to $15 a day for little to no work and took it.

Just goes to show how short sighted some people can be. Make money now, or give up that chance so future me or my possible future kids might have a slightly better world to live in. Now multiply that by a lot and- it's hard.

I'm using Azlo, which is nice & includes native Stripe integration. But, it has no "startup" specific features that I can think of. I'm also using American Express for a business credit card. I don't see any rea

Yep. It sounds like the packets were coming from this nic and the backbone routers had no logic to filter out those kinds of invalid packets. No SRC/DST/TTL should be a big red flag, but it seems like they didn't have a rule

True, but that adds another layer of complexity to an already complex system. If I'm using the ansible module, that's complex enough. Throwing in management of Kubernetes and the additional cruft containers adds- it seems like it&

OpenStack's failure is that it's an extremely complex system that looks to be nearly impossible to deploy by yourself. You have to use a Distro that does everything for you- their way. Kubernetes is simple enough to setup yourself

Because $200k in SF is $100k or so in Austin, $150k or so in Seattle or NYC. I don't get why companies do SF. To me, it looks like hiring in Austin or Seattle, for entry level engineers, is a smarter financial move.

The takeaway from that article I got was that companies are handing out credit to anybody who wants it- and some people take advantage of that when they want to go out with a bang. Hellfire would rain down on any Network (Visa, MC, Amex, Di

The only company I've seen take demonstrable action to protect their customer's privacy is Apple. Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Amazon have never given me a single reason to trust that they have my privacy concerns on their mind.

This. You're trusting everything you say & do to a company who says they're not going to share your data with others and that have the proper control in place to prevent other people from getting it.

They've solved that issue by deploying more towers in high density areas and carriers have swapped allocations in areas to get more continuous spectrum. Upping the frequency just gives you wider bands. I think a better argument could b

The more I hear about 5G, the more I think it's an industry trying to sell a product that nobody is asking for. I have no complaints about the speed I get on my iPhone from T-Mobile here in the US. I wish I had better LTE coverage, but

That's insane. I feel like at a small scale you get a product out the door and refine it until you start growing. It's really not hard to use ansible to deploy your stuff onto EC2 and add more nodes as you grow. But, K8s is the ne

I think Citus can do both- sharing and replication. The docs are not 100% clear on this, but they do talk about replication and sharing together. To use a solution like Stolon would require changes in the core logic to dynamically re-config
