I live in Germany, and have heard the same story for years - only with Tesla instead of "Chinese cars". And look, who is dying now? Meanwhile, my ID.7 is just an excellent car. Totgesagte leben länger, and such. The problems for

Launchbar[0] is also still around - not actively developed, but actively maintained. Happy user since 10 years already, even though I own a lifetime Alfred license. [0]: https://obdev.at/products/launchbar/index.ht

Raycast has only rudimentary file workflows. Constant efforts for monetization (VC money) and milking AI hype are just cherries on top.

Yes, the SUV - I have barely seen the limousine on the road. The "luxury limousine" segment seems to be pretty dead here, in Germany, too :/

Have no hands-on experience with EQS, other than that it stands next to my door (neighbour's), but EQS is huge, costs 2x Ionic 5, has a 100 kWh battery, aerodynamics of a brick, presumably better suspension... a completely different se

Guilty as charged! I've used it to de-DRM and transfer my bought ebooks to read them on my pocketbook. But, good to know that me, refusing to buy another kindle as a successor to my Kindle Voyage was the right decision. Every aspect

I was complaining about lack of physical buttons in my VW compared to my BMW before it, but then I thought about it - what do I actually use? Climate control is set to 20C and stays there. Carplay starts when I board the car and resumes wha

Looks better, support weather, supports more sensors, more configuration options… But Stats is sufficient, I just use iStats for ages and it ask for little money ~two times in a decade.

I agree, even after only working through examples and small learning projects in "Common Lisp: A Gentle Introduction to Symbolic Computation" writing is quite easy. Maybe the secret is writing lisp instead of writing about and stu

Ah, what would be a lisp thread without the inevitable lisps-decline-because-of-the-syntax-explainer, who will write a small roman about how bad lisp is and how no one cares about them /s On a more serious note, anecdotes are not data

*Some* people behind Rhombus think that lisp syntax is a problem - we will see. My prediction is that it will not even leave a dent - people get all kind of strange ideas without having any kind of data to prove their claims. To me it looks

I would recommend to look for a manual lever - either Flair or Cafelat Robot, or models with a boiler like La Pavoni or Olympia Cremina if milk is required. It is easier to adjust flow and pressure in many cases than grind size. Also you wi

You are absolutely right - I thought about adding that Denote is a true successor to Notational Velocity[1], not to Zettelkasten systems like org-roam, Logseq and Obsidian. For me personally notes are "cold" storage - I sometimes

I've skimmed through the manual - it seems to be quite more complex than Denote. Denote is very simple, I've had basically to configure my own fuzzy search with consult-notes-search to make it work. Howm has all that out of the bo

There is nothing linux-specific in this list, you describe learning UNIX and could do it on any *BSD, including macOS. I would agree that knowing you way around unix is very helpful, having some specific linux knowledge is worth very litt

Look at Kinesis 2/360, Glove 80, Keyboardio Model 100. I've used most of them for extended periods of time and would not touch a staggered keyboard with a stick. Another angle for optimization would be QWERTY itself.

The US are proud of getting some terrorist in the middle of Pakistan or putting pressure on whistleblowers internationally but when big money is involved getting a criminal scumbag responsible for ~1m deaths is suddenly a huge problem.
