So, after using HNSearch for recent PGP comments, it turns out that at least one such solution exists [1]. It can be found here: https://bitmessage.org , along with its interesting whitepaper from 2012 outlining its operation. I&

Perhaps someone could explain how starting from scratch and building an encrypted p2p email system would be insecure? That is, an imaginary mail client (hosted or local) with encrypted storage, transfer and constant processing of emails rou

Just to clarify; the study doesn't say that intelligence is completely environmental, but the reporter draws the conclusion that IQ test results are 'mostly environment and experience', which I'll agree is a reach. But I'd welcome the study

It is refreshing to see this kind of research promoted, particularly by an 'extremely learned person'. The submission reads to me as a sort of call to arms, as someone who feels that education has been a great privilege and bonus to their l

I suppose this behaviour is designed, perhaps sub-consciously, to influence the opinions held by others of the speaker. To encourage them to 'like' the speaker. We can all control how we talk, but some seem more conscious of it than others.

Thanks for the write-up. A very interesting read. It's an area that is ripe for innovation, and a massively growing industry. The XLIFF and TMX formats also offer flexibility in the handling of translated data, as with .po files, but there

Congrats, and thanks for sharing the stats. I appreciate the message in the post. Of course it's common sense in many ways, once SEO basics are established, but still gratifying to know that the low cost content method has worked (yet) agai

As a small part of this information revolution, may I suggest a (free as PDF) book on the energy problem and the varying efficacy of its potential solutions, available from here: http://www.withouthotair.com/ . It's an eye-opening read for

Congrats on a solid idea/execution combo. I suppose we need to support UK startups as much as we do our local suppliers. Fingers crossed I think you might even manage to win over the British luddites and naysayers with this blend of old and

OK. Over a week passed, the post inspired no particular comments. The few upvotes at least show minor interest. For future reference the post was of course too long, basically, and poses no particular question. But it has had a positive eff

The Register had some decent coverage of what went wrong [1]. If this does prove to be the root cause, it just highlights the costs of cutting costs irresponsibly. For customers, as has been said elsewhere, second bank accounts and cash buf

Thanks for that last piece of information - I'm looking for concrete examples of where translation boosted sales and this fits the bill quite well. Have you localized for any other markets?

You see it a lot in Korean movies and TV from the last decade. Very cool effect. I appreciated it in the excellent Sherlock series too, although in general season one was much more enjoyable/original/faithful than the second.
