I know this is tongue in cheek, but normal internal combustion engines convert the explosion into rotary motion of an air pump, whereas this uses the explosion in a more direct way via the expansion of the membrane. I thought that was reall

I’m having a hard time following what you’re saying. The person you replied to said HR is your enemy, which I interpret to mean - as an employee, HR is not on your side. They are on the company’s side. They may also coincidentally be on you

This seems strange to me… every recruiter I’ve worked with had a guarantee period, and if the employee didn’t work out, the fee was not owed. There’s also the option to do contract to hire. If the fee to hire someone is a deterrent, it does

You can self host and centralize configuration with netdata parents [1]. It’s extremely lightweight and efficient for metrics collection, and the UI is very good as well. I recommend giving it more in depth analysis. [1] https://

Perhaps you could take this opportunity where you’ve gotten the attention of an audience to, instead of criticize, educate us? I don’t see what’s wrong with this comic at all. It’s saying that if someone really wants to get into your laptop

Seems like on-by-default auto save with the option to disable, and a separate save button, satisfy all your requirements. That’s a pretty common set of customizations on saves from what I’ve seen.

They’re also not engineered to the standards of an iPhone either. The cost comes from somewhere… everyone has been fine paying for usb 2.0 speeds over lightning on even the pro max versions as recently as today because they’re still selling

Do you have any way to contact you? Would love to hear more about this. Also a C# developer and love EF. I think the standard library from Microsoft in general is the highest quality, most powerful and flexible library that’s out right now.

I was there for the freeze in 2021. Thankfully we had power periodically for an hour or two a couple times a day, so we were able to run the heater and keep the home livable (although it was in the low 50s at times inside). Dumped a lot of

Making a fake Chatbot that can masquerade as a person is unlikely to be a feature of slack. In the article, it focuses on summarizing, which I personally feel would be immensely valuable. It would be great too if the AI can learn my persona

Giving up a large portion of your life to work for a company isn’t enough of a party to a contract in this regard? Someone could conceivably take this job over others, or not leave as early, if they have assurances of severance. It’s not a

Temperature and humidity are high enough that you can’t cool off naturally via sweat. I would suspect most people don’t realize that’s even a thing. I’m from Texas, and everyone thinks they’re heat adapted and tries to act macho. A lot of p

The part you like sounds financially unviable… you have most of the office to yourself. In RTO, offices aren’t empty, they’re loud and full of people who don’t want to be there.

What was unsuccessful? I did this in a 2012 Miata with a pioneer head unit (capacitor on the Acc line so it discharges while cranking, which keeps the head unit from turning off). Has a fused line directly to the battery for power. It’s not

I’ve personally used a HoloLens, and I would consider it not useful outside of very specific edge cases. The viewport is extremely small (as in, most of your vision is not the hologram despite it still restricting your vision considerably),

Yeah that seems way low. In oregon you can have 4 plants and 8 ounces total (227g) at home, and can carry 1 oz (28g) on you at any time. Those are a lot more reasonable limits.

I was in the market for a new GPU and I debated between a 4090 and a 4070. 4070 is fine for the type of work and gaming I do, but I was thinking about the additional RAM. Then I realized that the 4070 has more vram than most consumers do, s

This is more than a nitpick. If you want to define static in a way not implied by common usage, you could say that even a blank piece of paper is not static because it’s made of atoms, or orbiting the sun, or whatever. They clearly meant st

You just point the MX records of your custom domain to a different provider, you mean? The vast majority of Gmail users do not have custom domains, and directly give out @gmail.com addresses to other users and services.

To me it sounds like you’re over indexing on a specific linter tool that you don’t like. Prettier, for example, does not hard wrap. You tell it an ideal width and it will let lines exceed it or wrap early (within its bounds) to ensure that

Alternatively, you could compile the C++ (or rust or zig) to WebAssembly, and a single binary would run anywhere.
