Power assist lets you turn a wheel with one finger at any ratio the manufacturer chooses... at most you'll get a lag in the assist but not in the mechanical movement (and I'd be amazed if that is perceptible with electric assi

I don't see how you would have less control by backing off tensioners vs. destructive approach. You don't have to release all guys at once in either case.

For me the interest here is VR making your set up hyper-portable. And even if it could I'd still want that physical set up in my workspace. Currently though it cannot match the efficiency of a single monitor with a tiling WM.

The US has id.me for accessing government services and for myself getting registered involved having a live video call with a government employee. Such a site/AI might put pressure on widespread usage for the same or a similar service

As a user of i3 and more recently sway for years now, there is no way I could adapt to this. I'd take a huge efficiency hit. Turning my head is for looking out the window or talking to colleagues/family...

Dropbox is still superior IMO. I have a Office365 subscription but OneDrive can make a huge a mess with default settings if you aren't careful when you set it up on anything but a new machine. It's just less slick overall - plus

I had an Atari 520ST in about 1998 and was always envious of friend's Amigas. In 1992 I switched to an A600, the Amiga was waning and I knew it but I loved owning it for that short period. I am glad I was a part of the community as muc

Fogs lamps are worse for the person using them than oncoming traffic. This is due to the way the light is focused. It's directed downwards to avoid the light reflecting straight back into your eyes off the fog or snow. This is what mak

This is what I use. I'm used to it but don't like it. The noise doesn't bother me much. By the time it ramps up I'm asleep.

I've spoke to multiple people that think the flat-fee is a flat- rate . Its devious. And most reporting doesn't really unearth the details. It's sad that the solar lobby isn't up in arms about this, instead they are stil

Perhaps headsets that manipulate the vestibular system via ultrasonic are in our future. (a entirely uneducated conjecture)

For watching movies I'd take a short throw projector over any VR HMD for the foreseeable future. Plus even if I were single, I'd probably be planning on guests at some point.

When I see it used it's as a device to set expectations when there are so many variables at play that any promise or commitment would be foolish, lead to disappointment with no upside. And that's how I'd interpret it here too

When did it move? The best beer I ever had was draught Pilsner Urquell, sat outside the brewery in Plzeň circa 2000. Whatever they were doing inside... oh man, Perfection. I'll never forget.

The nice thing about speedbump is the ability to modulate the impairments. tc cannot do that. That could be really useful for maybe simulating weather effects on satellite/RF over time?

Same. R&D included anything that wasn't not finished or had a roadmap that extended beyond the end of the year. In other words: unproven. If you squint that is R&D.

Yes and when those shortcomings exist, a robot lane added to existing route sounds like a fine idea. See: HSR in the California Central Valley. The I5 is too narrow already, it needs widening and the HSR won't fix that. Adding car rent

I did an Occam course in 92/93 at Portsmouth - I absolutely loved it. We also did Ada which I enjoyed immensely but Occam is the one that sticks in my mind due to the powerful primitives.
