Yes I feel this needs to hit the shareholders hard. But they'll just continue to cut costs to get the value back up and we'll be back here in a couple of years. It needs deep institutional changes and I can't see that happen

The "most" of the US fire service is just provided everywhere. But the US is also a very big place with big empty spaces filled with very small communities. Along with strong devolution in governance, there are "some" ve

I need an eink display on my office wall showing the current location/status. I always get a tremendous sense of wonder and wellbeing thinking about these probes/achievements, maybe it'd help keep me centered before the dail

The only thing I wish git handled better out of the box, with without any flags/setup, is large/binary assets. LFS is ok but it still feels like a kludge to me. The cli does not bother me, there are many tools that offer alternati

Electronic content/IP has upsides including convenience and environmental (less raw material, less waste and no shipping) Ownership could do with better regulation but ownership is an issue with physical goods...

Right, it seems like this will only work on non-steering solid axles, not with independent suspension.

Electric power assist already allows that. It's probably cheaper, lighter and maybe safer to have no steering column.

Even if that could be done, how would it be anchored in place? If anchoring is possible it might be sensible to anchor it where it is now and forget the towing. Shame it isn't as simple as hoisting a huge sail on it.

$500 a year will take a lot of perfectly functional ICE cars off the road, to what end? And it would punish lower income families. Gas prices alone are enough stick for this transition.

They're more comfortable full stop. And you feel safer, even if that is (maybe) an illusion. I prefer sedans, but longer distance traveling is very nice in my wife's mid-sized SUV.

I've been using Fedora as my daily driver since FC16. I love it. It was a bit shaky back then on my VAIO laptop but I have stuck with it ever since. I've been using sway for a couple of years, every other window manager/OS fe

Most advertising for iPhone 15 seems call out that it's made of titanium... there is nothing else of note. I have one and I do love it but the only innovations I'm interested in going forward are: - get rid of the camera hump, mak

Maybe it is as bad as it appears. Something does feel off in their content, Disney-esque. Or maybe the show had terrible ratings and it wasn't worth the potential grief. Why needle a business partner (China) when there is no upside?
