I think that Tesla (Musk) are putting a lot of marketing into Autopilot. Other automakers have comparable technologies but they are not marketing them as aggressively and definitely not position them as an autonomous driving platform as Tes

The direction of movement is important. To compare, GA (small) planes typically descent at 500-700 fpm (my wife complains if I descend faster than 1000 fpm :) ). Jets usually do 1000-1500 fpm. Elevators in skyscrapers can go up to 1500-2000

I actually think this was one of the better articles on aviation related topics. ;) BTW, 3000fpm is quite a lot since the plane was not pressurized.

As usual, the discussion about whether something is secure enough or not should start from describing various attack vectors (which will be different for different class of users). AFAIK, the airborn product tries to eliminate an attack on

Just curious, what authority does FB have to have the personnel in CA offices? Why didn't CA simply call the cops to get them out?

The police is just a part of the problem. The real problem here is the jury who let the cop walk. This is the real issue: no accountability for bad police behavior including unnecessary shootings, civil forfeiture, black ops sites, etc. Our
