Let’s check some scenarios: 1) Police puts a mic inside your house, you step on it, and destroy it. Is it ok or not? 2) Police puts a mic on a guy who comes to your house, you find it, and destroy it. Is it ok or not? 3) Police puts a nano-

As a private company, Harvard can have any admission process it wants. However, it should have zero federal or state grants if their admission process is using race (or gender, or ...) as part of the decision.

Not a Boeing driver, but in a few GA aircraft I flew, runaway trim can happen regardless of AP on/off status.

I had an autopilot/trim issues once on the approach right after FAF in solid IMC (later turned out that one of wires got loose). Similar symptoms as above. I didn’t debug anything, simply killed AP, and hand flew the rest of the approa

Manual trim is possible but at low near the ground one might not gave enough time.

An interesting point was made by an airline pilot in one of the plane forums. It appears that Max 8 with full trim deflection down doesn't have enough controls authority to recover (at least in the syms). Thus, the trim issues followed

You know that you need to break when you get close to another veichle in front. Now you have a new shiny cruise control (without latest distance keeping feature). Well, you still need to break when you get close to a veichle in front of you

Incorrect analogy. Runaway trim is a common and known problem with a solution to pull the electric trim breaker. MCAS failure is very similar in appearance and have exactly the same solution.

Adding MCAS didn’t change the symptoms / responses matrix. It’s mailfunction is the same as runaway trim and responses are the same (turn it off). This was a fair engineering decision to do not requir retraining for this.

Exactly. While Boeing indeed added a new system, the malfunctions and resolutions matrix didn’t change. Thus Boeing didn’t need to change training and claimed that new planes can be flown without any additional training. It’s hard to fault

I don’t think you need same number of self driving cars as drivers and the ratio might be way higher than 1:3. Plus I think you have a math error and the total cost in your example is $250B which is doable for Google.

I don’t understand why someone needs to censor anything in the first place. If a user finds posts of another user offensive, etc, then the first user can unsubscribe/unfollow/block/... the second user. If everyone thinks the
