Yes. I feel much better right now knowing that Social Security is bankrupt and its obligations will only ever be met through the federal government's printing presses. Aren't we all having fun now?

As a parent of two (3yrs and 10mo) there is serious truth to this. I can only assume that the down votes are because of the flippant way it was phrased, but let me offer this to the new and prospective pappas out there: you will be tired, b

I read this twice. Being that I currently live in Austin I can't ever imagine leaving. It's pretty much perfect. SF, on the other hands, makes my insides crawl. Each to his own, I suppose.

I'm sorry, but why is this here? Why is HN now a place to sell a failed project? I don't get it. If this were truly a "here, I started something, don't want it anymore, go grab everything I have from github" then great. But after reading th

As long as the site isn't true-blue porn, I wouldn't sweat it. In other words: if the site caters to people looking to hook-up, no big deal. If the site caters to people looking to pleasure themselves, this is perhaps a problem. Of course,

Then don't use THEIR service? Effectively DoS'ing the site isn't the answer. They weren't arbitrarily slowing things down just to piss you off. Like the OP said, they probably served so few because that's all they could handle.

The rule of thumb for telephony visual designers: every time a new switch or service gets built, a new visual designer gets built too :). Not sure why the down votes, shrug.

IB's unbundled commission structure is cheap, but I wouldn't recommend them for HFT. HFT, as defined by the industry, is basically very heavy on the order flow with the majority of those orders going un-executed. IB charges an insane cancel
